The fee structure for Members of the COHV is based on four criteria – an annual due; a per unit wholesale amount; a wholesale dollar amount based on each company’s percentage of all member companies’ wholesale dollar sales; and a ‘purchaser assessment’ per unit sold at retail. The purchaser assessment is used to support OHV national and provincial rider federations, safety programs and educational materials.

As well there is an annual fee for a member company which distributes side-by-sides. Member company fees are reviewed and approved each year by the Board of Directors during the budget process. The fiscal year of the COHV is from January 1st to December 31st.

The main operating committee of the COHV is the Executive Committee. It meets approximately four times each year. The Executive Committee reports to the Board of Directors, which meets at least once each year. The Technical Standards and Compliance Committee, the Policy and Government Relations Committee, the Show Committee, the Public and Media Relations Committee, the Audit Committee and the Statistics Task Force meet approximately three to four times per year depending on the urgency and importance of the subjects being discussed.
