CALGARY, AB (January 22, 2015) – The Motorcycle Show – Calgary presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance took place January 9-11, 2015 at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park.
Over 31,000 Southern Albertans were treated to all the new makes and models of motorcycles, ATV`s and scooters from all the major manufacturers. Some of this year`s standouts included Project Livewire™ an electric motorcycle showcased by Deeley Harley-Davidson®, the Polaris Slingshot , Ducati Scrambler and the 40th Anniversary of the Honda Gold Wing.
The ever popular SHE Rides Nite held on Friday, January 9th drew great crowds. The highlight of the evening was when five lucky ladies qualified to win a brand new Ninja EX300 courtesy of Blackfoot Motosports, Bow Cycle Motosports and Pro Am Motorcycles and Canadian Kawasaki. Tracey is now the proud owner of this amazing motorcycle valued at $6,000.
The Corral played host to seven MX Freestyle and Street Stunt performances put on by Team Empire and the Evolution of Extreme Show throughout the weekend. The half hour show got everyone’s heart racing and was the highlight for many show goers.
Youngsters ages 6 to 12 took the opportunity to learn to ride in a supervised and controlled environment at the Yamaha Kids Riding Academy while parents snapped pictures and took video to document the unique experience. These learn to ride sessions are extremely popular and fill up quickly.
Our special guests, Valerie Thompson, seven time land speed record holder and Ethan Barkley, 14 time National Drag Racing Champion took time to sign autographs and chat with interested fans.
The excitement peaked on Sunday when all the Grand Prize qualifiers participated in an elimination style draw to determine the winner of the 2015 Triumph Bonneville Newchurch Commemorative Special Edition Motorcycle valued at $10,000. Dave, an avid rider was the lucky winner of the Grand Prize provided by Triumph Canada and Blackfoot Motosports.
