EDMONTON, AB (January 2, 2018) – Canada’s major manufacturers will showcase their latest models at The Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton, presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance. This is the first chance for riders and enthusiasts to see the 2018 line-up of motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and scooters. This year’s show takes place January 12-14 at the Expo Centre, Northlands.
“If you are a fan of anything on two, three or four wheels, you won’t want to miss the 2018 Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton,” says Laurie Paetz, Show Manger, “whether you are a wannabe rider, new to the sport or a seasoned vet, there is something for every level and style of rider.”
Here is just a small sample of some of the new 2018 models that will be featured at this year’s Show.
Adventure
KTM’s 1290 Super Adventure will make its Canadian debut at the Motorcycle Show – Calgary. This bike is touted as groundbreaking, with its powerful engine along with advanced safety and electronics package. It comes with extensive standard equipment making for smooth cruising. It is the perfect ride for any journey.
Triumph’s line-up includes the Tiger 800. It sports a host of rider-focused technology including Triumph Traction Control and switchable ABS. The 800 is more powerful and fuel efficient than ever before. It offers sharper styling and a much more handsome design with new LED lighting creating clear views in front and behind.
Touring
The BMW K1600B was developed specifically with American riders and great open American roads in mind. It has a low, streamlined silhouette, and with six cylinders, it delivers an incredibly smooth ride with impressive power. The K1600B features an impressive level of comfort as well as innovative technology.
The new 2018 Honda Gold Wing takes the iconic touring machine to a whole new level. It is lighter weight, more compact and significantly more technologically advanced than previous models. Its six-speed manual transmission with multiple riding modes and electronically adjustable suspension is certain to enhance the riding experience.
Street/Performance
The 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS has been a highly anticipated entry into the retro category. The engine and the chassis are meticulously designed to not be too quick, making it easier to feel at one with the bike. Its carefully crafted styling elements are complemented by High-tech features like LED lighting and digital instrumentation.
The new Suzuki SV650X ABS boasts lower emissions, increased performance and outstanding fuel economy. The benefits of its lighter weight and stream-lined design include more responsive acceleration, nimble handling and greater confidence in maneuvering. It delivers a sporty, exciting ride.
The 2018 Yamaha XSR700 addresses consumers demand for a classically styled machine with performance that meets today’s sporting standards. The bike design allows for a natural riding position with solid riding comfort while the short swingarm and lightweight design highlights the more serious sport side. Its timeless styling combined with latest technology is guaranteed to provide a fun, exciting ride.
Cruisers
Indian Motorcycle® is introducing a new member to the Scout® family. The Scout® Bobber pays homage to the mean, stripped-down builds of the post war era. Its blacked-out wheels, knobby tires and lowered rear suspension keeps the rider grounded. It is no frills, all attitude.
The all-new Fat Bob® from Harley-Davidson® features aggressive, unapologetic styling with mind-blowing performance and handling. The Fat Bob® is the most powerful, agile and responsive cruiser in the Harley-Davidson® line-up. With its stiffer frame, lighter weight and never before seen asymmetrical tank graphic, it remains true to the Harley-Davidson® roots and offers a thrilling riding experience.
ATV/Side-by-sides
Can-Am is introducing the 2018 Maverick Trail giving trail enthusiasts’ new levels of control, convenience, comfort and versatility. The sturdy 800cc Rotax V-Twin engine provides ample performance for recreational endeavors. With optimal weight distribution, predictable handling and abundant ground clearance it is perfect for technical terrain.
The 2018 Honda Pioneer 1000 is designed for rugged outdoor adventures and makes quick work of tough tasks. Its best-in-class 999 cc engine, an industry first 6-speed Dual-Clutch transmission, plus over one full foot of ground clearance provides legendary off-road performance.
The all-new RANGER XP® 1000 sets a new standard for what a utility side-by-side can do. Its modern rugged design, improved comfort, industry-leading towing and ground clearance make this machine the hardest working, smoothest-riding side-by-side ever built.
Sport
Ducati’s new Panigale V4 has been highly anticipated. The first mass-produced Ducati to mount a four-cylinder engine sets a new standard in the supersport production bike segment. Riders of all skill levels will enjoy the fun and excitement due to the enhanced performance and ridability.
Kawasaki introduces the 2018 Ninja 400 to its line-up. Clad in sharp new Ninja styling, it delivers greater performance than its predecessors. The all-new engine and chassis are more powerful and significantly lighter. The relaxed, sporty riding position and predictable handling make it both fun and easy to ride.
The Aprilia RSV4 has lots more torque, weights over 20 lbs. less with aerodynamic fairings. The new braking system and the new APRc electronic controls package include Cornering ABS and the Downshifter. The 201 HP Euro 4 engine combines with champion chassis architecture.
Dual Sport/Off Road
Ducati’s Scrambler 1100 has been streamlined to be “compact yet beefy.” It has a new air/oil cooled 1079cc L-Twin engine and will output 86 hp at 7,500 rpm. Three ride modes and a full technology package including: ABS, cornering ABS, and a traction control systems are a few of the notable changes.
The Honda CRF250R is one of the best bikes in the 250 class. The most significant upgrade is the DOHC engine featuring increased power and higher redline. An electric starter is now standard. All the improvements are aimed at achieving maximum power and superb handling. The four-stroke engine features a dual-overhead-cam design with twin exhaust ports.
The completely redesigned Suzuki 2018 RM-Z450 will be featured at this year’s Show. The sleek race-ready appearance wraps around a stronger engine and a nimble chassis, which delivers exceptionally precise handling. It has stronger brakes for better stopping power and a wider spread of engine muscle with higher peak power.
Three Wheelers
The Spyder F3 Limited if perfect for an extended cruise; with its additional cargo space, new infotainment system and exclusive UFit system which easily positions the foot pegs according to your height. Riders can choose the handlebar position based on your preferred riding style. All this, and self-leveling rear air suspension in addition to heated grips make for a very comfortable ride.
The 2018 Slingshot® with its low stance, open cockpit and side-by-side seating took the industry by storm with its introduction in 2014. The 2018 model boasts industry leading Ride Command® infotainment system and takes style, technology and performance to a whole new level.
