Montreal, February 13, 2017 – With dozens of new models on display this year, the Montreal Motorcycle Show is bound to delight all motorcycle fans, from beginners to seasoned riders. From Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Show attendees will discover the latest innovations from the world’s top manufacturers: Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW, Honda, Ducati, Triumph, and many more.
In addition to the categories presented below, the industry’s leading manufacturers will also unveil new models in the small displacement, retro and street groups. Here’s just a taste of the highly anticipated 2017 models featured at this year’s Show.
Street/performance
Ducati Monster 797: An icon within everyone’s reach
Sporty, compact and minimalist, yet sophisticated and contemporary, this bike is the gateway to the Ducati world for those looking for an easy, intuitive ride and sheer sports enjoyment. Its elegant, muscular and quintessential Monster design, perfectly integrates the wide handlebar, tank, trellis frame, engine and double-sided swingarm. Its clean, slim line enhances the designer elements that are in fact structural components, such as the traditional Ducati trellis frame created as a single piece. Every element expresses a high level of stylistic and technical research.
Kawasaki Z900: Ultimate supernaked performance
Each twist of the throttle is rewarded with crisp, exhilarating acceleration and a sublime balance of power and dynamism. Its ultra-light chassis lends itself to spirited sport riding and maximum pleasure. With its Horizontal Back-link suspension, the shock unit is almost horizontal, and because it’s also very close to the bike’s centre of gravity, the shock unit greatly contributes to mass centralization and improved handling.
Suzuki GSX250R: The urban sportbike
Whether in town or on the open road, this fully faired street machine brings the excitement and satisfaction of Suzuki’s sportbike heritage to a broader audience. Featuring athletic good looks, responsive yet easy-to-control performance, a broad power band, nimble handling, class leading fuel efficiency and a comfortable riding position, the GSX250R is as at home on the daily commute as well as touring long distances. Every aspect related is optimized to tap the bike’s full potential and deliver pure delight.
Yamaha FZ-10: Calling all thrill-seekers
Power, agility and ease of handling: this bike offers all this and much more thanks to its R1-derived engine, chassis and fully adjustable suspension. Experienced riders will appreciate its comfortable, upright riding position, torquey power delivery and corner-carving precision. The lights, intake ports, combustion chamber and camshafts have all been redesigned to achieve outstanding “rideability” in a wide variety of conditions. Its distinctive exterior style is defined by a dynamic mass-forward silhouette.
Adventure
BMW R 1200 GS Rallye and Exclusive: Perfection meets passion
The GS is second to none, as amply evidenced by its multiple awards and outstanding road tests by the trade press. Its latest model goes a step further in terms of touring and off-road performance. Its 125 HP (92 kW) flat twin boxer engine, at once high-torque and economical, guarantees riding pleasure no matter where you’re headed. Its reliability is legendary, as is its responsiveness. And with new electronic assistance features that include electronic suspension adjustment, the R 1200 GS has once again become the benchmark for the ultimate in riding – at the push of a button.
KTM 1090 Adventure R: The world at your fingertips
Its suspension, off-road wheels and tough, fuel-efficient engine are ready to rumble. Decades of rally victories roar within. This model offers the same state-of-the-art technology as the celebrated KTM 1290 Adventure R, and even though its engine capacity is somewhat smaller, with 125 hp, it’s still big on power.
Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS: Your ticket to adventure
Designed as the ideal travel partner, the Versys-X 300 is built for adventure. Its 296 cc twin-cylinder engine makes it a one of a kind machine. Its lightweight chassis and long-travel suspension provide sporty and nimble handling, whether for commuting or long-distance riding.
Dual sport/off-road
Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled: Straight out of the California desert and mountains
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is an enduro version, inspired by the world of off-road motorcycles that made history in the United States in the 60s and 70s. Its name refers to standard motorcycles over 500 cc that were modified by riders for use in the California desert. Its strong off-road character is present throughout its design, from the higher seat and reinforced frame to the fully adjustable suspension, front headlight grid and engine protection plates. Rounding out the Scrambler Desert Sled are new Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires on spoked 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels.
Honda CRF250 Rally: Adventure calls
A compact and sophisticated liquid-cooled DOHC 249 cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine produces smooth and consistent torque at low rpm, plus excellent high rpm performance. The engine’s wide spread of power makes the CRF250 easy and confidence-inspiring to ride, while delivering impressive fuel economy. Enhancements to the engine’s intake and exhaust systems boost horsepower by a full 10% over the 2016 model.
Suzuki RMX 450Z: Hit the trails
Descended from the World Championship winning RM-Z450, the RMX 450Z is rewriting the rules for serious off-road riders. Key features include a powerful 449 cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine and a slim, aggressive frame and body. Also setting it apart are its electric starter, full function dual-mode instrument cluster, enduro lighting and added protection for its chassis.

Suzuki GSX-R1000R: The king of sportbikes
The Suzuki GSX-R1000R is redefining what it means to be the ultimate sportbike. Its chassis makes it the lightest, most compact, most aerodynamic and best handling GSX-R1000 ever. Cradled in the new aluminum frame is an all-new engine that uses an exclusive variable valve timing system and ride-by-wire throttle bodies for a wide spread of power, while delivering smooth and precise throttle response. Its advanced electronics package includes selectable performance modes, with the motorcycle enhancing and fine tuning rider inputs.
Ducati SuperSport: A new concept of sport
Always at ease, whether in the big city or out on the highway, this bike is decisive when faced with out-of-town hairpin turns. The SuperSport balances comfort and versatility with no compromise made to its sport profile. Excitement and riding pleasure are guaranteed. This road-going sportbike allows one and all to indulge their sport instincts anywhere, anytime. Its lines create dynamic shapes that are visually compact and light. Its design integrates elements typical of Ducati sportbikes, such as the single-sided swingarm, sculpted tank and compact lateral silencer with two overlapping exists, which leave the rear wheel, with its “Y” spoke design, fully visible.
Honda CBR 1000RR: Total control, total enjoyment
This model is lighter, more powerful and easier to handle. Its 16-valve DOHC engine has received an impressive array of improvements for 2017, resulting in a 10 hp increase and contributing to a significant overall weight reduction. Yet even with a 14% advance in power-to-weight ratio (between comparable ABS models), the new CBR maintains its user-friendly character, due in large part to its cutting-edge electronics package, a key feature of the bike’s Next Stage Total Control design concept.
Yamaha YZF-R6: Innovation that leaves the competition in the dust
Since its debut in 1999, the R6 has been the bike of choice for serious 600 class riders and racers. For 2017, it features a host of improvements, including new ABS brakes with larger front rotors, new 43 mm fully adjustable inverted forks, and an R1 inspired body design that’s sure to turn heads. The R6 is full of innovation and technology you won’t find anywhere else.
Scooters
Vespa 946 RED: Back from the future
Vespa 946 is renewing its mythic status by celebrating its traditional values, from the handle grips and fairing proportions to the classic curve of its saddle. It also offers ABS braking and ASR traction control. The 4-stroke 125 cc single cylinder engine is a pre-emptive strike at requirements that may by on the horizon. And it guarantees the best performance in its category. Electronic injection, three-valve distribution, reduced friction and improved fluid dynamics sharply lower consumption and emissions, establishing a new benchmark.
Piaggio Liberty 150: Evolution and rebirth
Its 16-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels deliver excellent stability and the sensation of climbing onto a motorcycle. With ABS technology and LED lights, the Liberty 150 is stylish, lightweight and easy to ride. It offers great performance while remaining environmentally friendly. It may be new, but it remains faithful to the values that have made the Piaggio brand such a success.

Spyder F3 Limited: Comfort defined
The F3 Limited offers a relaxed riding position, ultimate cruising comfort and lots of storage to get you through the city or out on the open road. Additional cargo capacity and improved wind protection make it ready for extended adventures. Its unique UFit system lets riders precisely position the pegs and choose the handlebar based on their preferred riding style. Its smooth-riding rear suspension features manual air preload adjustment to optimize rider, passenger and cargo performance.
Polaris Slingshot SLR: Bolder than ever
Under the Slingshot hood: SLR branded exhaust manifold cover and open air intake. With its two-tone paint and colour frame accents, full body graphics, wind deflector and composite brake rotors, it makes quite the statement. The cockpit features cut & sew sport seats, a Sparco steering wheel and an interior LED lighting kit.
Harley-Davidson Freewheeler: The devil’s in the details
Stripped down hot rod style on an easy-handling frame that lets you roll with the confidence of three wheels. You get classic cruiser lines and styling details, such as bobtail rear fenders, slash cut pipes, chrome headlight nacelle, 12-inch mini ape hangers and Enforcer aluminum wheels. The acceleration is instant, thanks to the low-end torque of the all-new Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. And the 49 mm front forks and adjustable rear suspension ensure an ultra-smooth ride.
Campagna Motors V13R: The roadster with character
Its 1,150 pounds of muscle contain a new mono swingarm, a belt-driven no mess, no maintenance driveline, and an aftermarket ready exhaust system. It also comes in 12 colours. The critics report that it accelerates like a motorcycle and brakes like a car.
